Over 125 Years
With a business history of over 125 years, Pettibone was incorporated in 1937 as the successor to a business founded in 1880, manufacturing and marketing medium to heavy classes of industrial equipment. During World War II, Pettibone became the major supplier of large gun carriages for the military, and as a result, gained experience in the manufacture of heavy-duty vehicles and hydraulic equipment.
Since 1946, the company has grown and diversified through acquisitions. In 1966, the company acquired Hanson Machinery, which became Pettibone Tiffin and later TIFFIN PARTS. The Hanson Clutch and Machinery Company was founded in 1914. Heico Inc. was incorporated in 1979 by M.E. Heisley, who acquired Pettibone in 1988. Heico Inc. was merged with Pettibone in 1994 to form The Heico Companies, which today is a $3 billion privately-held corporation with over 50 companies throughout the world.
